Most venues now require evidence of an organisers own public liability insurance cover. Many require this before letting you use their venue. Your choice of venue should have its own public liability insurance in place. Sports venues, night clubs or town halls need this to protect them in the event of an injury. Most commonly, these are injuries that are caused to the public as a result of the venue’s negligence. This could be as simple as a trip over a piece of badly fitted carpet. However the venue will require any outside contractors to have their own cover to protect themselves against injury to the public that isn’t the fault of the venue. A contractor can be anybody organising an event at the venue or using it for the purposes of a public gathering.

What does Boxing Event Insurance Cover?

Firstly, a boxing insurance event policy provides public liability protection against any upheld claims of negligence on the part of the organiser for damages to or injury to third parties at the event. Event liability insurance starts with an indemnity limit of £1,000,000 but can be increased to £20,000,000. Your required indemnity limit will depend on the size of your venue and the attendance. Most local authority venues, schools, nightclubs and function facilities now require a minimum indemnity limit of £5,000,000. You should always check with your venue before buying cover that it meets with their requirements.

The policy can also extend to include event cancellation insurance cover. It can also provide property cover for promoter’s belongings and equipment used at the event.

Do I Need Employers Liability Cover with my Boxing Insurance?

Employers liability insurance cover provides protection for you against claim made against you. This can arise from injury to any person within a contract of service with you. Any staff employed directly by the venue would be covered under the venue’s own policy. Employers are required by the law to insure against liability for injury or disease to their employees arising out of their employment. In the eyes of the law, any assistants and volunteers are under a contract of service with you.
